Abstract
Tretirajući pojam tišine ne isključivo kao opreku zvuku, već kao legitiman prostor zvuka i događaja, ovaj rad istražuje mogućnosti izvedbenosti tišine i pauze kao njezine inačice. Uzimajući kao okosnicu Cageovu kompoziciju tišine, kroz analizu postojećih izvedbi te pronalaske alternativnih mogućih izvedbi, slušanje od alata postaje izvedbom, otvarajući pitanje određenja izvedbe i njezinih granica. Postavljanjem grada kao prostora izvedbe, a dijelom i izvođača, sakupljene su različite izvedbe slušanja ambijentalnog zvuka, intervencije u zvučni okoliš snimanog grada, audio kolaži i jedna koncertna izvedba grada uživo.
Abstract (english)
This work explores the performative possibilities of silence and pause – an instantiation of silence – by treating silence not merely in opposition to sound, but as the legitimate environment where sound and events take place. By taking John Cage's piece composed entirely of silence as a starting point, the act of listening is transformed from a mere tool to a performance in and of itself through the analysis of existing performances and the exploration of possible alternative ones. The question of the definition of performance and its limits is being raised. The town serves as the venue, but is partially a performer as well, the result of which are various performances consisting of listening to ambient sounds, interventions into the recorded town's soundscape, audio collages and a live concert performance of the town itself.
