Abstract

Ovaj pisani rad analizirat će stilska obilježja velikog američkog redatelja Stanleyja Kubricka. Pobliže će sistematski opisati odličja njegovog jedinstvenog stila kroz vizualne značajke (kamera, kompozicija, kostimografija, rasvjeta, scenografija), korištenje glazbe te montažu (slike, zvuka i glazbe). Stanley Kubrick je režirao 13 igranih filmova i 3 dokumentarna filma, no u ovom radu obradit će se sljedeći filmovi: 2001: Odiseja u svemiru (1968.), Paklena naranča (1971.) , Barry Lyndon (1975.), Isijavanje (1980.) i Oči širom zatvorene (1999.). Radi se o 5 dugometražnih igranih filmova koji se žanrovski uvelike razlikuju. Ipak, u svakom je vidljiv Kubrickov naglašen stil koji se stalno mijenja i prilagođava temi. Njegov pristup filmu uvelike je utjecao na filmsku industriju i modernu umjetnost, te će ovaj rad opisati važnost Kubrickovog nasljeđa.

Abstract (english)

This written work will analyze the stylistic characteristics of the great American director Stanley Kubrick. It will systematically describe the features of his unique directing style through visual features (camera, composition, costume design, lighting, scenography), the use of music and editing (editing, sound editing and music editing). Stanley Kubrick directed 13 feature films and 3 documentaries, but this paper will cover the following films: 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), A Clockwork Orange (1971), Barry Lyndon (1975), The Shining (1980. ) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999). It is significant to take 5 feature films that are very different in terms of genre. Furthermore, Kubrick's style is visible in each one, it is ever changing and adapts to the theme. His approach to film greatly influenced the film industry and modern art, and this paper will describe the importance of Kubrick's legacy.
